Meghan Owens, PT, DPT
Meghan is a pediatric physical therapist with more than 15 years of experience treating in Early Intervention, schools, home health, and outpatient pediatric settings. Her passion for pediatric physical therapy developed when she realized she could enter the medical field and still follow in her mother’s footsteps, teaching young children. As a young adult, Meghan had the opportunity to assist a therapist with aquatic therapy sessions while she was lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons. She witnessed the difference the aquatic environment made for the children and has since leveraged her experience as a swim instructor, and her knowledge as a physical therapist, to offer individualized aquatic therapy sessions to clients, as well as private swimming lessons to clients of all ages and abilities. Meghan is passionate about creating an engaging and individualized experience for patients and their caregivers. When she is not busy working, Meghan enjoys traveling the world and spending time with her husband and three children.
Meghan was previously the Director of Pediatric Services for a therapy company with over 250 clinics in 10 states, where she led a team of more than 40 pediatric physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech-language pathologists. While tasked with setting the overall direction and establishing the culture of the pediatric program, Meghan developed a strong interest in developing tomorrow’s leaders. After completing a year-long Leadership Academy program, she began teaching managers how to become leaders, and employees how to continually adapt and grow. Meghan has taught classes on coaching, communication, employee development, and many other topics. She is passionate about change management and personal energy. Meghan holds a Distinguished Women in Leadership Certificate from the University of Richmond where she also served as a University of Richmond Women in Leadership Program Advisor (3/2023-3/2024).
